East-Tec SafeBit – Store Stuff into Secure Safes
East-Tec SafeBit provides a safe means of storing sensitive information. By using this application, you can create safes. Put any data you want inside a safe and it will be securely stored inside it. Access to the data won’t be provided until the safe is opened. And you can’t open a safe unless you provide the correct password.
The minimum system requirements for running East-Tec SafeBit are: 300MHz processor or better, 256MB of RAM memory or more, at least 50MB of free disk space, Windows operating system. The following Windows editions are supported: Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP, Server 2008, and Server 2003.
The application’s interface has a black and red theme. The panel from the left hand side nicely lists the options to create a new safe, open an existing safe, close one or all safes, destroy a safe, or back up a safe. You won’t have any problems figuring out the interface or using the interface to access the application’s functionality.
Creating a new safe is a fairly straightforward matter: select a name for the safe, enter a description if you want to, enter a password, set the size of the safe (the default is 100MB), and pick a drive letter for the safe. Once you have a safe, open it in Windows Explorer, and use it as you would use any other drive. The difference between the safe and a regular drive is that the data stored inside the safe is encrypted and password protected. When you close a safe, no one can access the data stored inside it.
East-Tec SafeBit is free to use for a trial period of 15 days. A prompt will remind you about this fact every time you launch the application.
Create a virtual safe, put any data you want inside it, and then close it. The data stored in an East-Tec SafeBit safe is encrypted and passwords protected. It is thus kept safe from prying eyes and other dangers.
Pros
The system requirements for running East-Tec SafeBit are very low. The color scheme for the interface is appealing. The interface is quite easy to use. Creating a safe is an effortless task. Data stored in a safe is encrypted; access to the safe is password protected.
Cons
15-day trial, nag screen.
